The languages of Europe
Beautiful map (simplified) of linguistic reality this side of the Urals. The dotted lines represent areas of language substitution, where the official language is the overlap to the language's historical territory.
The Romance languages are blue, red-orange in the Slavic, Germanic and the green and brown the finely-húngricas. The Galician, of course, has the same color as the Portuguese, but is lost in the territory of Spain.
